Understanding Tractor Cabs

There are four types of tractor cabs:

  • Standard

  • Straddle

  • Narrow

  • Low-profile.

Standard cabs are the most common type of cab and are typically found on larger tractors. They offer a full enclosure with a roof, windshield, and doors.

Straddle cabs are designed for use with row crops and have a narrower profile to fit between rows. They may have a split windshield to allow for better visibility.

Narrow cabs are similar to straddle cabs but are designed for use in orchards or vineyards where the rows may be even narrower.

Low-profile cabs are designed for use in areas with low clearance, such as under trees or low-hanging vines. They may have a shorter roofline or be designed to sit lower to the ground.

The type of cab available may depend on the size of the tractor, with some manufacturers only offering factory-installed cabs on larger machines.

Aftermarket cabs may offer different features than factory-installed cabs, such as air conditioning and radios.

There are several tractor cabs available, including factory-installed, field option, and aftermarket options.

There are also different types of cabs based on the brand of the tractor. For example, Original Tractor Cab offers cabs for a variety of brands, including Dixie Chopper, eXmark, Farmall, and Grasshopper. Agrital offers cabs for brands such as John Deere, Massey Ferguson, Iseki, New Holland, Kubota, Kioti, Bobcat, Jacobsen, McCormick, Landini, and Deutz Fahr.
