When to Lube Your Tractor

The frequency of lubrication for a tractor depends on several factors such as the manufacturer's recommendations, the type of tractor, and the operating conditions.

Here are thoughts from our team of mechanics...

  • Grease every eight hours of operation: This is the standard recommendation for most tractors.

  • Grease more frequently in wet conditions: If you use your tractor in the rain or wet locations, it's best to lubricate a little more frequently to help purge out any water.

  • Grease more frequently in extreme mud and wet conditions: In extreme mud and/or wet conditions, the greasing intervals might be reduced to every 10 hours of use or daily, whichever comes first.

  • Grease every 10 hours of use: Generally, it is recommended to grease all fittings every 10 hours of use.

Maintenance frequency is based on conditions, and one key is to follow the tractor manufacturer's suggestions. Check your owner's manual.

It's important to note that these are general guidelines, and the exact frequency of greasing may vary depending on the specific tractor and operating conditions. Consult the owner's manual or a professional for specific recommendations.
