Yanmar America at the Equip Expo 2024 introduced a series of new tractors for the rural lifestyle market in North America, including the first public viewing of the SM475, its most powerful tractor available in the United States, along with the SM240 and SM240H. In addition, Yanmar unveiled its first-ever limited-edition tractor, the SA223 Kuro Edition, and a fully electric concept tractor featuring the latest Eleo off-highway battery pack technology.
SM475: Ideal for 35-to-75 Acres
With an output of 74 horsepower, the SM475 is Yanmar’s most powerful tractor offering in North America to date, combining advanced technology and luxury design for optimal performance and comfort. The SM475 also features a clutch-less power shuttle transmission for effortless operation and convenience via adjustable power steering, tilt, implements, and an optional joystick-controlled loader–all without leaving the seat. The dual-entry deluxe cab, advanced climate control, ergonomic operator station with a digital command hub, and immersive audio system provide unmatched comfort while working the land.
For those with 15 to 45 acres, attractive alternatives include the SM240 and the SM240H version with the clutchless hydrostatic transmission. Both the SM240 and SM240H feature 2,116 lb. loader lift capacity, a foldable rollover protection kit, joystick-operated front-end loaders, and an optional Yanmar backhoe providing unmatched versatility for land-working activities.
Meet Kuro: The First Ever Limited Edition SA223
For the first time in North America, Yanmar is also introducing a limited release SA223 tractor for rural landowners–the Kuro Edition. Meaning “black” in Japanese, the SA223 Kuro Edition trim offers additional rider comfort with a suspension seat and a refined aesthetic of tasteful black accents unmatched in the industry. Featuring dual-range speeds, standard differential lock, and three-point hitch position control, the SA223 Kuro Edition is powered by Yanmar’s legendary 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engine paired with hydrostatic transmission. Available in summer 2025, the Kuro Edition features the exceptional design and performance of the SA223 but with added comfort and a sleek new look.
